Hi, I’m the person behind The Data Driven

I’m a data engineer, and data is genuinely the part of the job I enjoy most. For more than eight years I have been building scrapers for store owners, marketers, researchers and small agencies, mostly through Fiverr.

The work usually starts with someone stuck. They can see the information they need on a website, but it is spread over hundreds of pages, or it changes every day, or it needs to end up in their store in a very specific format. My job is to get it out cleanly and hand it over in a file they can use straight away.

How I like to work

• A straight answer first. If a site cannot be scraped reliably, I say so before you pay.
• A sample before the full run. We agree on the columns using real rows, not a description.
• Working smart. I would rather spend an hour automating something than do it badly by hand for a day.
• Quick replies. I answer messages within about an hour during my working day, which overlaps with mornings in Europe and evenings in the US and Australia.
